Eagle Rock May Have Hipsters, But It Doesn't Have Giant Penthouses a Mile From the Beach

Been saving all year to buy something in Curbed LA's most up and coming hipster hood? Well, give the landlord one month's notice. The north building of the $35 million CityPlace Lofts, a 72-unit project at 4th and Elm in Long Beach, is ready for September move-ins.

We suggest going whole hog on the LBC. Spend $1.5 million for the 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 4,250-sq-ft top-floor penthouse, reportedly the largest residence in California's third best downtown. And pay no mind that the only people outside after 6:00pm are the sooty ones lurking around Albertsons next door. We said it was up and coming!
