Turning its beady intellectual eye on Orange County, Slate magazine proclaims that Irvine "has become the nation's capital of real estate folly" and is "a center of reckless real estate lending and borrowing." But if the online pub bashes all those subprime lenders and calls it a "company town," they do have something nice to say: they like the blog IrvineHousingblog, "a guide to the seventh circle of real estate hell—people who buy houses on spec with no money down." And we like the blog, too.
