CurbedWire: Oh No - Frogo!

DOWNTOWN - A reader lets us know another loft tries to cash in on the condo craze: "I live at Santa Fe lofts, in downtown. Just wanted to let you know that they just put up a posting of a public hearing, that they're going to convert it all to CONDOS." Don't worry. We're sure it'll be back to rentals in 6-8 months after conversion. [CurbedWire Inbox]

LOS ANGELES - When we saw this email header we were totally thinking of something else, but then we got our mind out of the gutter. "No more DOM in SoCalMLS reports! This is kind of a shocker -- one of the big local RE listing consortiums is going to stop providing Days On Market (DOM) in reports they generate for clients (buyers). That's 'cause the DOM are so long people are going to want to pay less!" The SoCal MLS explains that there's really two ways of looking at it: "One view is that it hurts sellers, another is that it helps buyers." Um, as MB Confidential points out, "Actually, that's the same view." Duh. [CurbedWire Inbox/MB Confidential]

SANTA MONICA - Ok, we'll give them credit for a good name and unholy alliance between frozen dessert and cute animal logos. Another entrant into the Froyo Wars, this time in Santa Monica. A reader sends in this email and pics above: "A new chain(?), in Santa Monica, on Wilshire Blvd. and Euclid (13th Street), but this time with coffee, too!" That's one way to differentiate themselves from all the no-fat, low-cal faux-yo out there. [CurbedWire Inbox]
