BEVERLY GROVE - Los Angeles is home to a lot of strange retail combinations - flowers and pancakes. Shoe repair and cafe. We used to live next to a store that was both a dry cleaners and cell phone dealer. Blackburn and Sweetzer uncovers another new combination in an unexpected place: a boutique called New Threads inside Toast. Yet another reason for us to avoid the crowd there and head down the street to far better food.
BEVERLY HILLS - T-shirt pimp James Perse is opening his first Beverly Hills store in July. In addition to the triple digit cotton shirts, the company will also feature men's, women's children's and home at the store. Additionally, (attention gay men!) "it will have a room for men’s underwear and loungewear, a category Perse is looking to build."
BEVERLY HILLS - We don't know how this one slipped past us. We usually pay such keen attention to UK imports in Los Angeles. Luxury UK brand Reiss has opened its first LA boutique on Robertson (where else? Clearly we need to spend more time at the Newsroom Cafe now that Lindsay's stint in rehab has made the street safe again). The 6,000 sq foot space features both menswear and women's apparel. UPDATE: Co-editor Josh has informed me no British retailer goes unnoticed. I was just out of town.
