Welcome to the inaugural Catch, an idea we've brazenly stolen from the mothership. The Catch features everything-looks-good-except listings. Nominees to the tipline.
What/Where: 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in Sherman Oaks, Share with 2 other females
Looks Good, Right?: While Tina and roomie Wendy are quite specific about what they're looking for (must be female, must not live in West Africa, must be around the same age as them), they're offering a private bedroom, shared bathroom, laundry room, hardwood floors, tile in the bathrooms and kitchen, and carpet in the bedrooms. The bedroom offered has new paint and new carpet and according to Tina: "the entire house is very charming and well decorated. Wendy and I are very cool and we're a lot of fun to hang out with. Hopefully you will become our friend as well as being our roommate." And rent? Its free.
The Catch: "OK, so I'm sure you're wondering what the catch is, and why I'm offering this room for rent/house to share for free. Well, here's the deal: I am a website owner (www.dollyhair.com) and I need someone to do some work for me! Yes, I sell doll hair. Kind of a different thing to do, I know, but the website is doing very well! So in exchange for free rent (the room would normally rent for $700.00 a month), I would like you to process doll hair orders for me, and essentially you would be my personal assistant. Your hours would be VERY minimal. I run this business from home, so you would be working from home as well, and you can work at any time of the day that you feel like working, so you would have a totally flexible schedule and you would still have time to work another job, go to school, or do whatever you want to do. Additionally, I would ask that you work another 30 minutes a day on top of the time you spend processing doll hair orders. During this 30 minutes, I may ask you to run an errand, do some light house cleaning, make phone calls, whatever I need help with. But I will NEVER ask you to do anything that is immoral, illegal, or sexual, or anything else that the average person would have a problem with." Candidates with nice handwriting (Tina requires it) can apply here.
