File This Under "Painfully Obvious:" Americans Love Their Cars

The US Census Bureau has released its latest data on Americans' commuting habits and - no surprises here - Americans Still Love Their Cars! The survey found that less than 5% of commuters use public transportation nationally, yet over three quarters of commuters drive to work alone.

The percentage of Angelenos who commute via public transit is higher than the national average (10.3%) but still lower than residents of smaller cities such as Seattle (17%), Minneapolis (12.5%) and New Orleans (12.2%). Oh, and those hippies in Portland love to ride their bikes.

P.S. Love the Post Chronicle with the big fat Cadillac video ad smack in the middle. Well done, Google ads.
