Update on Midtown Crossing, the one in LA

[rendering by Perkowitz & Ruth, made better by us]

A reader updates us with lots of details about a recent meeting between CIM Group and residents of the hard to define "Midtown" area to discuss the Midtown Crossing project, which has been in the planning stages since we were babies.

They break ground this July. Completion is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2008. Ground floor is a Lowe's Home Improvement. Middle level is entirely parking. Upper level will be 3 smaller big box retailers: one is an electronics store ("Like Best Buy" they said), another will be a sporting goods store and they didn't indicate what the third would be. They are also looking for a restaurant to occupy ground floor space along Pico. The project, as rendered previously, will no longer feature a Target but will have nice landscaping and wide sidewalks. We're promised an update when ground is finally broken. We hope to see an updated rendering soon too.
