New Listing Service To Launch

(Metro Hollywood Mixed-Use, Los Angeles, by Kanner Architects)

Via a conversation with Joel John Roberts, CEO of PATH Partners and the blogger behind LA's Homeless Blog, we learn of the upcoming launch of the Los Angeles County Housing Resource Center, a web site offering low and moderate-income housing listings. How will it be better than say, Craigslist? Launched by Social Serve, a North Carolina-based national listing service, the web site will act like "a centralized portal with information about affordable housing," Nina Fedele, director of communications tells us. And it'll be specifically marketed towards families, individuals and those with special needs (i.e., not scrappy students). Approved last year by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors as part of the Homeless Prevention Initiative, the site should launch by the end of this month.
