According to the Echo Park Historical Society's blog, Angelus Temple has won the right to demolish two apartment buildings between Lemoyne St. and Glendale Blvd. and build a six-story parking garage for the church. According to the blog posting, a city-imposed moratorium on new construction and demolition came too late--the Angelus Temple had already filed the permits. Expect more fights as there are other buildings Angelus Temple would like to topple. But doesn't everyone know that church has been replaced by soccer? And MySpace.
