"Welcome to Tesco. My, you look Fresh and Easy."
HOLLYWOOD - The Hollywood 411 blog lets us know that demolition has begun in earnest at the future site of the W Hollywood. "Major demolition has started to make way for the W Hollywood. Daddy's Bar is history." We also received a nice booklet from the W Hollywood in the mail which we've been trying to scan for the past week but our scanner software has malfunctioned. LOS ANGELES - A reader emails us with linkage to the new Tesco Fresh & Easy blog. The writer of the blog is the suspiciously named Simon Uwins - how perfectly British. Mr. Uwins is the Chief Marketing Officer for Fresh & Easy. The first blog post from May 3rd is titled "understanding customers," which is much better than our unqualified suggestion: "To Serve Man." RANCHOS PALOS VERDES - A reader emails with exciting Trader Joe's news that's kind of a question that we kind of forgot to put in Rumblings & Bumblings earlier. "Work crews were taking soil samples yesterday at the shopping center at the corner of Hawthorne Blvd and Palos Verdes Drive West in Rancho PV. Rumor is that a Trader Joe's is going in where the Golden Lotus restaurant is now and that the sampling was done because RPV may be requiring underground parking. Any one know anything about these happenings in the hinterlands?" [CurbedWire Inbox]
