Oh Oh Orsini

That green monster on the corner of Caesar Chavez and Figueroa is the second phase of Orsini, which is opening for move-in on July 15th. How 'bout them rents: a 568-square-foot studio starts at $1,800. Those prices will get you tanning beds, wireless internet, washer/dryer in every unit, a junior Olympic pool, and indoor track. The lot down the street--currently holding the Burger King--has been purchased for more Orsini development, while the liquor store across the street is refusing to sell out. Also, construction on phase 3 will start later this year--that lot houses popular barbecue place BBQ King, which is moving into the bottom of phase 2. All the buildings will be connected by skywalks, i.e., walkways over the street.

Ironically, Curbed got most of the above information from talking to a nice homeless man named Chris who lives in the area (the info was confirmed by Orsini rep). Chris and Curbed debated what neighborhood this is. It is not Echo Park, not Downtown, so still clueless. More pics and fancy rendering after jump.
