An update on our post yesterday about the imminent closure of the Home Depot in Glendale and replacement with a mixed-use development. A frequent Burbank reader writes in after doing their own sleuthing. It seems that if the Glendale store closes, other locales may be faced with an influx of new day-laborers crowding the sidewalks and throwing their neighborhoods into a tizzy. "I called Glendale Planning and they said there were no such plans, but they were happy to report that Lowe's would be building a store at the old Levitz site (5375 W. San Fernando Road via LoopNet). I hope your tipster is wrong, but if he/she is not someone better warn the folks in Glassell Park too."
