The Not-so-hot Real Estate Agent Career Path

The pool of real estate agents available for this summer's Broker Boys & Babes contest appears to be dwindling. Our favorite Orange County blogstar, Jon Lansner, reports that the number of agents entering the world of sales has declined dramatically. Via Lansner:

California had 532,301 licensed real estate sellers as of April, Department of Real Estate stats show. That's up 7.5 percent from April 2006, the slowest rate of annualized growth since January 2003. At the peak of the insanity, the annual increase in agents was 14.2 percent. The agent apocalypse appears to follow the trends of the housing market in general - down, down, down.
