We called up architect Howard Lak's office, snooping around for some renderings for his planned apartment complex that'll go up next to Horizon's Surf Shop. If those renderings aren't ready yet, his office did pass on drawings for this project--Genoa, a 50-unit mixed-use rental building going up at 1418 7th Street in Santa Monica. Not sure what used to be at the site. Currently under construction, the building, which looks like it will be inhabited by awkward-moving claymation people, will be ready for all you Westsiders to move in next winter/spring.
