Last night "60 Minutes" turned its tickety-tock journalism on the increasingly controversial and expensive 6 percent commission earned by real estate agents. Featured in the piece was online real estate site Redfin.com, as well as a couple who saved $26,000 by not using a broker. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer sent a reporter to watch the episode with employees at Seattle-based Redfin.com (the employees look like a bunch of nervous fifth-graders watching a space shuttle launch); today the piece is being criticized by local blogs.
