Checking in with rents at Hikari, a 100-unit building in Little Tokyo that opened for move-in in January: a 550-square-foot studio starts at $1,650 and a 1,200-square-foot two-bedroom rents for $2,400. Developer Related Companies is planning to open a handful more buildings--both sales and rentals-- in the Little Tokyo area in the next few years, a rep for the building tells us. The building is 90 percent leased and has free parking, pool and a gym. FYI, Hikari means "light." Like waiting for the light to change so you can walk across the street to get home.
