Curbed LA Pricechopper: Desert Hot Springs Motel

[View of private patio by Scott Van Dyke]

It was bound to happen. Or maybe not. The John Lautner-designed Desert Hot Springs Motel has been pricechopped after less than two months on the market. A reader informs us: "Please let all our friends know, John Lautner's Desert Hot Springs motel has been reduced from $745,000 to $650,000. So much for the bidding war! If only it weren’t so far away from????.Pinkberry and TESCO." This is a pretty big drop from the initial speculation that the motel would list for $1.4 million. Sure, Desert Hot Springs may be a bit of an "armpit" as one of you referred to it, but this seems like a bargain for a midcentury enthusiast who will treat it lovingly.
