Water Showers, Trains for All

Metroblogging provides an excellent and detailed photo essay of Rio de Los Angeles State Park, the new 40-acre park between San Fernando Road and the LA River. There are picnic benches, soccer fields, basketball courts, and water spritzers, but those features aren't nearly as exciting as the park's train (video of excited kids here). That corridor may eventually house a high-speed train tying Los Angeles to Northern California, reports the linked LA Times article, news which probably excites the kiddies to no end.
