Biggest Building Coming?

A proposed 76-story, 750-unit condominium building on a parcel near Fifth, Olive, and Hill would topple the record-holding, 72-story Library Tower (Wikipedia says it's 73 stories, fyi) and make the project the tallest building west of the Mississippi.

The project (which also will include 14,000 square feet of shops and 18,000 square feet of restaurants) is being designed by Leo A. Daly, while New York-based Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects is handling the overall design, according to LA Downtown News.

Also, there's a chance that the whole thing would shrink down to 70 stories and not be the biggest building, but that doesn't make a very exciting headline nor does it provide opportunity to use tasty Godzilla image.
