In Praise of Ghost-Free Ranches

Hi, Diane! Nice pic. Diane Tuman, responding to Slate's recent piece on the death of the ranch, has something to say: She loves her ranch. Why? Because there's so little upkeep and maintenance. Unlike at her previous homes, there's no doors that stick, uneven floors, or smelly basements. Or asking (her husband? partner? dog?): "What was that noise?" Unlike those pesky Victorians, no exorcism needed living on the ranch!
