Inhabitat highlights Israeli-based architect Joseph Cory and his Electro-Magnetic Skyscrapers project, an urban plan where buildings support each other through their electromagnetic fields. From the architect's web site: "E.M. Structures [Electro magnetic] will be able to support each other simply by pure physical magnetism that can also direct electricity. By using magnetic fields as a construction material there can be infinite vertical and horizontal expansions due to the final liberation from gravity. " (No, we're not going to pretend we understand any of this.) Lucky Tokyo was picked to levitate first, but we're looking forward to Cory raising the roof in downtown Los Angeles.
