Second Place in Holmby Hills

Bezos's home? Peanuts! Suzanne Saperstein has just listed her 45,000-square-foot estate, known as Fleur de Lys, for $125 million, tying it for second place among the most expensive available U.S. properties.

Saperstein is the recently divorced wife of Texas millionaire David I. Saperstein. (Back story on the Sapersteins can be found at New York Social Diary. Excerpt: "For money can’t buy you love. Sometimes it can’t even buy you a good lawyer. Although it can always buy you unhappiness.")

Notable things about the estate: library with a first-edition book collection, two kitchens, 50-person screening room, three-bedroom manager's house, staff quarters for 10, nine-car garage and a 3/4-mile jogging track.

According to the WSJ, the price is lower than Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan's $135 million ranch in Aspen but matches Donald Trump's $125 million Palm Beach mansion.
