Google Maps Now in Stunning Monochromatic 2.5-D

The GoogleEarth blog notes the continuing evolution of GoogleMaps. As of early this week, Google is now providing 2.5-D views of select cities around the globe, including Los Angeles. In the above pic from downtown, you can see the rendered buildings are at best composites - we never knew the Library Tower looked like Lisa Simpson's head. And yes, we checked, the Ambassador Hotel on Wilshire is still existing in Google world and it is rendered in 2.5-D. Memories... lalala.
