How's the Air, Downtown?

Yet another cheerleading article about downtown arrives via the LA Times, which talks up pioneers Morgan Lyons and Martha Harris, residents of a new penthouse with some sort of fancy cat bathroom. This story reminds us of 1. Our fear of cats. 2. How our friends bitch and moan about the poor air quality downtown. They say it's horrible--and enough to keep them from moving there permanently. Is it that bad, Curbed readers? Frankly, our time downtown is usually spent in drinking establishments, not the best place to judge air quality. Fill us in, downtown.
