Retail: The downtown renaissance continues as a Johnny Rockets is ready to spead its love around. "I was looking at the Johnny Rockets site for locations near Echo Park today (for the free veggie burger promotion...the things a meat eating guy will do for a cute vegan girl) and noticed that a downtown location is listed as coming soon. Maybe you or a reader has an idea of when or where this might be." [CurbedWire Inbox]
Zoning: As always, our code (LAMC) junkie self comes out every once in awhile. This email from a reader piqued our curiosity. "Have you seen this (link)? Apparently LA is going to be adding additional restrictions to the single-family zoning requirements. I have not seen the actual proposed code, but I have heard that they are proposing significant new standards. Probably a much-reduced FAR, increased setbacks, maybe parking and/or height restrictions, etc. The policy makers have probably been seeing all the faux-Mediterranean (Fediterranean?) McMansions and the GarageMahal on Curbed and realized they had to do something.
Regardless of whether one thinks this is a good thing or bad thing, it is always good to be informed. So, if anyone is concerned one way or the other, it looks like the City will be having info sessions on March 21st and March 29th." [CurbedWire Inbox]
