All of a sudden, the San Gabriel Valley looks so much cooler to us. We had previously only really thought about it on Sunday mornings when we're hankering for some dim sum. But like the high school nerd who used to win all the science fair medals, but then over summer break loses his glasses, grows his hear long, and starts wearing Motörhead T-shirts, the SGV is suddenly ground zero for elaborate pot cultivation. Cops busted a house in Diamond Bar this week with $22 million worth of pot plants and an "elaborate irrigation system and overhead lights on timers that were hooked up illegally to bypass meter readings." Well done, science nerds! Oops, until you got busted, we mean. We suppose suburbia isn't quite as boring as we thought it was.
