At the risk of mixing our metaphors, the California High-Speed Rail Authority and councilmember Tom LaBonge are hosting a pre-scoping meeting to explore the possibilty of a super-cool, super-fast rail line from here to SF, so we can be more like our brothers and sisters in Europe and Japan. Also on the docket, they'll be presenting a video "showing its unique technology and capabilities" (presumably the one above already making its rounds on the Internets).
So if you feel like skipping Lost (its been sucking anyway), and have an opinion on high speed rail, make your way on over to the Friendship Auditorium in Griffith Park at 3201 Riverside Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90027. Geeking out over high-speed train computer simulations begins at 6:30.
