LA Times "Bottleneck" writer Jean Guccione checks in with the proposed plans for the 710 Freeway in South Pasadena which some officials believe could reduce traffic by 20 percent. On Wednesday, a MTA committee "tentatively approved putting up more than $5 million as its contribution to a larger Caltrans feasibility study." A previous study showed that the tunnel was totally do-able, but Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina, head of the county MTA, worries about, uhm, resistance to the plan: "I don’t want to spend $13 million if we are going to get politically impotent at the end of the day."
