So Long Linoleum City

The project to redo that whole mess of a block just west of Santa Monica and Western continues to move forward. Paseo Plaza, proposed for the site of the hideous (but surprisingly successful) Sears and the Linoleum City strip mall, will "involve the development of a mixed use development with approximately 437 residential units, and 377,900 square feet of commercial space." The Hollywood Chamber reports that the City Planning Commission wants to see more info on affordable housing, balcony blight, and landscaping before they give the go ahead. Otherwise, you'll have to start getting your linoleum from somewhere else fairly soon.
