Is everyone a telecommuter these days? Officials in Glendale are worried about the city's high office-space vacancy rate of 16%. Compare that to office-space vacancy rates in Pasadena (4.7%) and Burbank (3.6%). City officials blame outsourcing and technology for the empty offices, the majority of which are in large, office-only buildings, rather than mixed-use complexes.
