Monrovia's Myrtle Avenue re-opens this Friday following a five-month, $3.1 million renovation that added new sidewalks, curbs, new irrigation systems, and more street lights. City officials said the project was the first major upgrade of Old Town's infrastructure in 30 years, but not everyone, notably shop owners who lost business these last few months, was happy about the upgrade. The re-opening is this Friday and, yes, there is a ribbon-cutting.
