The city of Santa Monica just awarded architect David Hertz a “green building” design grant for his new office. A statement praises Hertz's cutting-edge, environmentally conscious buildings, but if you recognize his name, it's 'cause he's the architect who famously designed a Malibu home made out of an airplane.
