LA River Plan Unveiled

Picture courtesy of the LA Times

Pretty! We likey! The LA Times offers up images of the Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan. Think grassy banks, kids on bikes, couples holding hands, and, of course, housing:

The plan calls for nearly 6,200 residential units along the river in Canoga Park and 4,665 units near Chinatown. Both sites also would see new retail and office development. The $2 billion project would likely be financed by a public-private deal, guesses Shelly Backlar, executive director of the advocacy group Friends of the Los Angeles River.
