While developments all over LA try to hack life, work and leisure into youthful "villages" and "commons" and "art waves," what it really takes to get into a well-planned mixed-use project is an AARP card. Fountainview at Eisenberg Village broke ground along Victory Blvd. in Reseda this week, on the site of an old nursing facility at LA Jewish Home for the Aging. Retirees get 108 units, with 900 to 1,600 sq ft, 1-2 bedrooms, plus a gym, spa, salon, screening room, arts studio, business center, library, coffee bar and game room, with daily classes, clubs and other activities. Construction begins next month, though 85% of the units are spoken for. Vest, 401(k), vest!
