LA is Number 1 In Green Building

New, 1 comment

Finally, LA is number one in something. Jetson Green links to a report conducted by CoStar and an academic which finds that "green" buildings, more specifically Energy Star certified large Class A office buildings, receive higher rents ($2 per square foot) and have a 2 percent higher occupancy rate than non-green buildings. The report identifies California as the number one State for green building, and LA as the number one City. And despite the bitching and moaning, reaching LEED certification is shown to be well worth the cost, at least at the Certified level.
