After Sen. Lou Correa, D-Santa Ana, called for design proposals for the Santa Ana River, civil engineering students at Cal State Fullerton submitted some fine-looking plans for a river 'parkway.' The students' plans for the trail--that would go from south of the 22 Freeway to the river mouth of Huntington Beach--were unveiled last week and include lots of shimmering water, vegetation, and a hot girl on a mountain bike. What happens now? Correa says discussions on using some of that $50 million in Prop. 84 funds for river projects continue, according to the OC Register.
