The LA Times magazine (online) has a series of articles on gingerbread-built local landmarks, including the Chemosphere House, which is fully diagrammed above (for those of you with giant candy canes, gelatin, and meringue lying around your kitchen). Other local landmarks getting the candied treatment include Randy's Donuts and the Capitol Records Building. Best advice is to set aside at least 15 hours for prep and build your gingerbread landmark to withstand a magnitude 8.0, at minimum.
