Bad news for lovers of gas pumps and snack stands. Another gas station has been felled by the bulldozer. As reported previously (here and here), the Shell station at the corner of Franklin and Cahuenga was fenced off in July. Rumors of a hotel sprouting on the site can't be confirmed but we're doubtful. According to the listing on Loopnet, the property has been for sale since 2006 for a hefty sum of $2.75 million. That was with the gas station still on the site, so adjust prices to account for the vacant lot. Does that actually increase the price?
