Glendale's Design Approval Process Changing

New, 9 comments

If you live in Glendale, the city's design review process for single-family homes is getting tweaked, following an August vote by the City Council to strip the two Design Review boards of power. To get an idea of how the system isn't working, the Glendale News Press checks in with unhappy resident Robert Gevorkian, "who had his proposed 3,897-square-foot, two-story home ultimately rejected at an Oct. 11 City Council meeting for being too big and incompatible with the surrounding neighborhood after several redesigns and a narrow approval at the Alternative Assessment Panel." Tomorrow, there'll be a fun-sounding meeting to go over all things related to the city’s Design Review boards, according to the paper; on the upside, the article makes it seem like most everyone wants the system changed.
