Lots of holiday love at the very mature-sounding ABC Unified School District meeting in Cerritos. Despite the apparent incompetence of some board members, plans were approved for Cuesta Villas, a mixed-used development of "247 mixed-income apartment units, a 4-acre park and a senior center on 16 acres of land currently occupied by ABC's administrative buildings and warehouse at 16700 Norwalk Blvd." During the meeting, outgoing board members Cecy Groom and Louise Dodson got in a fight and "Groom called Dodson, who is black, 'Miss Monkey' and told her she was glad she didn't win re-election." Groom was ordered to apologize but Dodson wouldn't accept the apology, reports the paper.
