It's a slightly confusing story, but apparently Ingrid Cramer failed to remove illegal structures behind her Torrance Boulevard auto shop, Gordon's Pier Collision, and now faces putting in community hours with Caltrans or doing jail time. Some of the facts: Neighbors complained of fumes and pollutants at her shop, located at 638 Torrance Blvd, she never removed the corrugated steel buildings behind the structure, and when she did get approval for demolition, she'd left a beam and a handful of exterior walls standing "because of structural and security concerns." And for all that confusion, it's possible Cramer, who plans to appeal, will be on Caltrans duty. Know your city building code, people.
