Note to Bob Hill: Try to plan the next crane mishap on a day when 70 people with cameras and blogs are not walking by. Saturday's bad news: a mother and infant were bruised when a crane, lifting a billboard, fell onto Cool Baby, the kid enrichment school at 6095 W. Pico Blvd. Worse news: Even though police closed Pico to drivers, they couldn't do much about 70 participants of the Great LA Walk, spending the day hoofing the boulevard from downtown to the beach. Great amounts of shutter-clicking and blog posting ensued. Pico remained closed till Sunday, and Cool Baby is still closed "for renovations."
