Curbed LA PriceSpotter Big Reveal

New, 3 comments

Thank you to those of you participating in this week's game. We gave you a property presently for sale, and you tried to give us what you thought the listing price was. Now, the answer to last Friday's Money in Manhattan Beach...

Sale Price: $3,650,000
Listing: Via the comments we learn that this house has been on the market for awhile. But still, it's brand new construction in Manhattan Beach so you could definitely count on paying a shiny penny or two for zip code and beach adjacency rights. Constructed by "master builder" Paul Higgins, the Santa Barbara Mission style home "is on the corner of Laurel Avenue and 33rd Street in the Tree Section of Manhattan Beach."

Sadly, this week's game was almost ruined by a Gray commenter who posted the home's listing price in an attempt to ruin the game. We quickly erased the comment but it created a cone of suspicion (illustrated above) on guessers thereafter. This week's award goes to guesser Gray #13 who was within $30k of the actual price. A suspicious win, indeed. This week, the lot of you guessed an average of $1.046 million under the actual asking price. Clearly we need to work on our South Bay real estate lessons.
