1.) A look at the sleek decor at Joachim Splichal's Paperfish in Beverly Hills: A Red, orange, and white theme (the bar is pictured, right). Blowfish colors, basically. Lunchtime opening is scheduled for November 28th and they'll offer a light bar menu from 2pm-8pm through December, with dinner starting in January. Recommended: Fried oysters.
2.) Lunchtime live blogging from Teroni: Eater loves the Italian Amaretto cookie cans, but worries the wine bottles over the tables will come crashing down when the quake hits. Consensus: "Hell, if Cobras & Matadors and Buddha's Belly can last this long, Terroni has a shot."
3.) More fish news: Hungry Cat will be closed from November 25-December 10 to add a larger dining room with 25 new seats and a 10-seat raw bar.
4.) Pizza Pizza! Larchmont institution Village Pizzeria is opening another outpost in mid-December on Yucca, between Ivar and Cahuenga.
