We can report that the Original Texas BBQ King, located directly the street from The Orsini, the Tuscan-themed downtown rental building at Caesar Chavez and Figueroa, gets smoking early--at 8 am this morning, a good chunk of the block smelled like a tasty greasy picnic. And when the smoke gets going, it drifts across the street to Orsini, likely torturing the vegetarian residents. Eventually, Orsini will move across the street, taking over BBQ King's space, but the restaurant will continue to operate somewhere amid this development. Where exactly we're not sure, nor do we understand how this giant meat smoker and the Italians will peacefully coexist.
