Curbed LA Pricechopper: Lautner Motel in Palm Springs

New, 13 comments

Sinking fast! Fresh off a series of summer chops that left Lautner's Desert Hot Spings Motel hovering just below $600,000, we learn of yet another price chop that has taken the Motel to new depths - sub $500k. If you need a refresher, here's how the Lotta Living forum posters described the motel:

The Desert Hot Springs Motel, 1947, John Lautner architect.... This four-unit structure of concrete, redwood and glass is an exceptional design. When constructed, the locals thought it was a military installation. But once you are inside, it's like living in a terrarium. We have a feeling this is going to end badly (vegan hippie commune). Retail Price: $495k.
