Hermosa Beach Church/Land Swap Offered

New, 3 comments

Two big local landowners may be making a deal: El Segundo-based Continental Development Corp, which owns 4 million square feet of property around California, is offering megachurch Hope Chapel, the largest landowner in Hermosa Beach, a spot in its Continental Park in exchange for the church's 235,000 square feet of property near Pacific Coast Highway and Artesia Boulevard. Continental Development wants to build a commercial development on the spot, reports the Daily Breeze's Andrea Woodhouse, while the church, currently stuffing 1,700 people into its four weekend services, is needing a bigger place of worship. So it seems the deal would be a win-win for both parties, who'd both get bigger and richer.
