ConstructionWatch: LAPD's Shiny New Headquarters

We have to give a round of applause to the fine workers of Tutor Saliba who have managed to quickly erect the frame for the new Parker Center, directly across from City Hall. As seen from above, the new LAPD HQ is going up and down simultaneously. The lower level appears to be a maze of jail cells, conference rooms, offices, and lion pens (for the annual mauling of the Christians at the Coliseum). The second component of the project, the police garage, should be knocking down the M.J. Higgins Gallery fairly soon. Sad days. The project is scheduled for completion in 2009.
