Given the eventual post-fire flood season So-Cal will face, here's a question about disclosure from a reader who probably should have just come out and talked about everything.
"Dear Curbed, My friend sold her house a few months ago and is experiencing problems with the buyer. He claims that the bottom floor of the house got flooded when it rained that one night recently and wants my friend to pay for it. The reason: she didn't disclose a previous flooding. The problem with this: She didn't disclose it because the bottom of the house got flooded during early construction and before any kind of drainage system was installed. Question: Was she supposed to disclose the flooding, under those circumstances? Is she liable....?"
