CurbedWire: Condo Conversion and a 97th B-Day

CITY HALL - Reader Harvey L. attended the 97th B-Day party for noted architectural photographer Julius Shulman at City Hall yesterday. He relates the following: "As we were leaving city hall... we met up with Julius walking to the car. We finally made it to the elevator bank across the bridge in the east city hall building, when the lights went out and the elevators were turned off. A city hall employee said this happens all the time!! Julius, as spry as he is at 97 was not going to make it all the way back to the main city hall, (where the elevators were working) so we got one of Los Angeles' best to assist us. The picture tells it all." Bigger version of photo, taken by Harvey L., after the jump. [CurbedWire Inbox]

PASADENA - Speaking of Archstone-Smith. They appear to be taking Del Mar Station condo. Via our inbox: "The Archstone-Smith owned Del Mar Station Apartments in Pasadena's Gold Line station will be sold as condos (300 plus units). The Company is requesting a building zone change with city of Pasadena (large public notice signs are posted around the building) but yet the apartments are still up for rent. Not sure how that would work out for current or would be tenants." [CurbedWire Inbox]
